Get Involved ...

There are a number of different activities, groups and ministries that people are connected with in our parish.  Below you will find a list of most of these groups.  If you would like to find out more information about any of these groups or you would like to connect to one of them, please contact our parish office on the link at the top of the page (click 'Contact').

Burleigh Anglican Thrift Shop and Drop-in Centre

Our new B.A.T. Shop and Drop-in Centre is now open!

Besides good quality pre-loved clothes and bric-a-brac (see below for more detail) we provide a place for everyone to stop, catch their breath, have a chat and make a friend. There is always time for a cuppa and chat. If you are in urgent need of food and / or clothing our church office will be able to help.

We stock pre-loved good quality:

  • Clothing; women's, men's and children's from 2yrs and up
  • Bric-a-brac
  • Vinyl records (DVDs + CDs)
  • Beautiful potted plants
  • Kids toys
  • and loads more ...

We are also looking for good quality clothing and bric-a-brac. If you can help please drop off your pre-loved goods at the Church Office during opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 12noon. We would request that you do not leave goods unattended due to safety concerns.

If you would like to volunteer at our BAT Shop please drop into the Church office (14 Park Ave, Burleigh Heads) during Tuesday to Thursday 9am to 12noon and pick up an application form.  It will be great fun and it is always a good feeling helping other people.

Men's Breakfast Fellowship

Men’s Breakfast meets on the 1st Saturday of every month from 7.00am to approx. 9.30am.

Cost is $7 and includes a breakfast typically of juice, cereal with fruit, a hot breakfast, toast with jam, honey or vegemite, followed by tea or coffee.

Our group runs the highly successful breakfast program for Miami High School students as an instrument in Youth Ministry. Our members are also regular helpers at the Bunnings BBQ fund raisers for the community work of St John’s.

Men’s Fellowship promises you camaraderie, an interesting program and an enjoyable breakfast - why not come along and try us out for zero cost? The first breakfast is on us!

Grow Groups / Life Transformation Groups

We have just finished a great 'Lenten Study' looking at 150th anniversary of "Coming of the Light" to the Torres Strait Islands - how we can become more involved with mission and support the fantastic ministry that is occurring in Northern Queensland and the Torres Strait.

We are keen to run a group exploring human sexuality and the scriptures once again (was a great hit last year).
This year we plan on developing a series of bible studies (and transformation groups) around the various preaching series (more information to be released soon).

What is Christianity all about and who is this Jesus guy? If you have ever asked yourself one or both of these questions then you might like to be part of our next 'PILGRIM" course exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Our next course starts in July 2021. If you are interested please contact Rev. Eron for further details.

If you are interested in joining one of our Study / Transformation Groups please contact:

Rev. Eron Perry at the Parish Office  07 5535 6066 for more information.

Pastoral Care

Being a community of faith we take seriously the care and support of one another, especially those who are shut-ins or unable to get out and about.  A number of our Lay Ministers and other trained volunteers provide Pastoral Care.

Food Relief / Parish Pantry

We are still helping people during the coronavirus outbreak.

We provide emergency food relief to those in need.  This service is administered from our Parish office.  Our Parish office is open Tuesdays to Thursdays 9am-12noon.

If you would like to assist us in caring for those in need, we frequently need food items for our parish pantry.

Please ensure all food items are well within used by dates.

We would welcome: ring pull tins of food (particularly stews etc in the winter months), long life milk, noodles as well as toiletries.

Please contact Helen in the parish office for more information:
